A 5 -year -old girl has been strangled to death after attempting rape in Hubli, Karnataka. The accused was killed by the Karnataka police in an encounter. During this period, 3 policemen, including a sub-inspector, were also injured, who are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
According to the police, the accused attacked the police team in an attempt to escape after the arrest. Meanwhile, there was a clash and the accused was killed. The accused has been identified as Ritesh Kumar (35 years), a resident of Bihar.
According to the report, the accused Ritesh took the girl to a shed and tried to rape her. Local people ran towards the shed after hearing the child’s scream. During this, the accused strangled the girl to death and escaped from the spot.

During this, the policeman also fired in the air, but he still tried to escape. Sub-Inspector Annapurna fired two rounds on the accused, injuring him. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

A case was registered against the accused under the Poxo Act for murder, attacking policemen and attempting to murder.
Police said- Ritesh had been living in Hubli for the last 3 months and was away from home for the last several years. Used to work in construction and hotels here. The matter is currently being investigated further. A team has also been sent to Patna to gather information. Here, there is anger among the local people after the incident surfaced. Many people gathered in front of the police station and demanded a protest demanding a nation.
